Identifying Features

Crile hemostats have horizontal serrations the entire length of the jaws, while Kelly hemostats only have the serrations on the distal half of the jaws. May have straight or curved jaws. Jaw length is slightly shorter than the shank and ring handle length.

Often used in pairs to occlude vessels before cutting.

Sterile Processing Info

Inspect the serrations and box lock carefully for bioburden. Test ratchets for firm but easily releasable closure.
